Artisan Central fills a gap in the market as an online directory for pre-checked, highly skilled tradespeople working throughout France. We are very different from other directories in that we specialise ONLY in English speaking pre-checked trades and services.

When moving to France or moving to a new area within France, it can be impossible to distinguish between legally registered, highly skilled artisans and trades that are not appropriately registered or insured.

Well-meaning recommendations from friends or neighbours can often lead to serious financial consequences for homeowners. Many skills are required to have at least Responsabilité Civile Professionnel while others MUST have Decennale Assurance. Unlike the UK, many skilled trades do not sit under a trade body. Each tradesperson carries the responsibility of their training, knowledge and skill directly through their work and their insurance.

Artisan Central is the only pre-checked Trades Directory.

We offer membership to pre-checked tradespeople who pride themselves on carrying out the highest quality workmanship and delivering excellent customer service.

Our members are proud to share their customer reviews, represent Artisan Central’s principles of quality, skill, and professionalism, and uphold the Artisan Central Code of Practice.

Each member’s profile consists of their SIRET number, a business summary and complete contact information. You can also view their range of services, qualifications, accreditations and experience a gallery of work and customer reviews. (Note that reviews do not apply to Bronze members).
